Departure Day

Departure day was one helluva long no-sleep 30 hour day.

It started off with us both feeling sick: runny noses, scratchy throats, sinus pressure - you name it, we had it! We were both dreading the overnight flight across the Atlantic (especially considering the doctor's vertical gift), not to mention all the stuff we had to do that day.

We spent the day packing, clearing out of our current living quarters, and grabbing some last minute items before our journey halfway across the world.

Before we knew it, it was time to leave for the airport and say our final goodbyes to our families.

We flew in first to Turkey before arriving at our final destination of Israel. The flights were uneventful and neither of us slept very much.

We took the train from Ben Gurion airport to Haifa where we met up with the doctor's colleague who generously drove us to our hotel and also provided us some groceries since it was close to midnight.

We swiftly passed out, eager to see what the next day would bring.
